Luke Combs, Slane Castle - Claire's Perspective
After a landmark weekend for Sports Entertainment Tours, our Corporate Sales Associate Claire has written a reflective piece about the event.

As the sun shone down on 180,000 fans this past weekend, the hallowed grounds of Slane Castle played magnificent host to Luke Combs during its first-ever double concert weekend. Making history, Combs became the first country artist ever to headline the iconic Slane stage, marking the beginning of a new era under the stewardship of the new Marquess Conyngham, Alexander, Earl of Mount Charles.
Sports Entertainment Tours guests enjoyed a range of exclusive hospitality experiences within the castle grounds, with every detail designed to make the day as seamless as it was memorable. Guests arrived via a dedicated hospitality entrance from the designated car park just five minutes away before stepping into the castle courtyard, which had been transformed into a lively saloon complete with a full-service barbecue enjoyed in glorious sunshine.
Inside the castle, Gandon Restaurant and Brown's Bar became the Setlist Suite, offering guests a relaxed two-course dining experience in elegant surroundings, complete with a private bar.
For those looking for the ultimate experience, the Headliner Experience delivered something truly special. Guests enjoyed a guided tour of Slane Whiskey Distillery hosted by Earl Alexander himself before making their way to the Castle Ballroom for a beautifully presented three-course banquet. Unsurprisingly, the experience sold out quickly, with the bright, airy ballroom providing the perfect setting ahead of an unforgettable evening.
Beyond the hospitality areas, the castle gardens buzzed with activity. Food and drink vendors, including ice cream trucks, coffee stalls and a champagne tent, were joined by lawn games and relaxed seating areas where guests could soak up the atmosphere before taking their seats to enjoy performances from Jamie McIntyre, The Castellows, Ty Myers and The Script ahead of Luke Combs' arrival.
Adding to the occasion, our special guests Catherine Tyldesley and her partner Tom stayed overnight in Slane Castle itself, waking up to spectacular views of the stage and the vast crowd below. They later shared the experience with their followers on Instagram.
As the sun began to set over the Boyne Valley, Luke Combs took to the stage with My Kinda' Saturday Night, the song that lends its name to the tour. Over the next twenty-eight songs, he delivered a performance that perfectly matched the scale of the venue. Surrounded by Slane's famous natural amphitheatre, woodland and rolling countryside, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric.
Highlights included Hurricane, Back in the Saddle, Love You Anyway and the encore performances of Fast Car, his acclaimed Tracy Chapman cover, and Ain't No Love in Oklahoma from the Twisters soundtrack. Fans were treated to an unforgettable surprise when Dermot Kennedy joined Luke Combs on stage for the latter, drawing one of the loudest reactions of the weekend.
Throughout the show, Combs regularly paused to share the stories behind his songs and repeatedly expressed his admiration for both the venue and the incredible Slane crowd, creating moments that felt as personal as they were powerful.
As the evening drew to a close, guests made their way home beneath the fairy-lit glade, ending a truly memorable day in one of Ireland's most iconic concert settings.
The feedback from our guests has been overwhelmingly positive. Many praised the quality of the hospitality, the smooth organisation throughout the day, the reassurance of having our team on hand, and the exceptional value offered by the experience.
After a landmark weekend that combined world-class music with first-class hospitality, there is only one question left to ask:
Who will take to the Slane stage in 2027?
